2022 mazda cx 5 review11/1/2023 While the exterior revisions are immediately obvious, it’s familiar territory on the inside. The suspension also gets an enhanced dampening control structure and increased frame rigidity, both helping to suppress unpleasant NVH. This sees improvements to the vehicle’s bodyshell and seats for enhanced ride comfort, reduced fatigue and significantly less road noise, particularly when driving on rough surfaces. The Japanese carmaker also notes it applied some aspects of its SkyActiv-Vehicle Architecture, which first debuted on the current Mazda 3, to the CX-5. New aluminium alloy wheel designs are also part of the facelift, as is a new exterior colour called Zircon Sand. Meanwhile, the rear taillights get a similar light signature as the headlamps, while the reflectors are now smaller and pushed higher up above the exhaust pipes rather than being beside them. Mazda designers also opted to reduce the number of character lines in favour of reflective body surface, hence the lower apron has been simplified as a result. These flank a tweaked grille with a three-dimensional mesh insert, while the signature wing underneath has been made thicker and no longer extends that far into the clusters as previously. You’ll spot the refreshed SUV by its new front fascia that features redesigned headlamps with rectangular-shaped LED lighting elements within them. After an impromptu reveal recently, Mazda has now officially unveiled the new 2022 CX-5 facelift, which gains a revised exterior, an updated kit list and chassis enhancements.
